Testing the Fan Motor

Follow the below steps to test your GEN3 Attic Breeze Motor from inside your attic.

Tools needed:

  • 9v Battery
  • 2 pieces scrap wire (wrap each piece around a post on the battery) 

From the Attic:

  1. Locate the thermal and fire safety wiring harness at the base of your fan. (These will be the only wires located at the base of your fan).
  2. Disconnect the thermal and fire safety connector by pulling the two black connectors away from each other. This will disconnect the solar power going to your fan. (DO NOT pull excessively on the wiring as to not harm the harness assembly).
  3. Locate the last two holes on the plug hanging down from the fan. 
  4. Insert one wire in each of the two holes (doesn’t matter what wire is inserted) 
  5. If the motor is good the 9-volt battery will spin the motor. 
  6. If the motor doesn’t spin using the 9-volt battery, it’s time to replace the motor.
