Replacing the Fan Blade

Follow the steps below to successfully change out your Attic Breeze Fan blade from within the attic.

Tools needed:

  • 1/8 inch Allen Key

From the attic:

  1. Locate the thermal and fire safety wiring harness at the base of the fan.
  2. Disconnect the thermal and fire safety connector by pulling the two black connectors away from each other. This will disconnect the solar power going to your fan. (DO NOT pull excessively on the wiring as this could potentially harm the harness assembly.)
  3. Loosen the 1/8-inch Allen key screw located on the shaft of the fan blade. (Do Not bend fan blade)
  4. Pull the old fan blade off. (Fan blade edges can be sharp – use caution when removing the fan blade.)
  5. Place the fan blade onto the motor shaft. Notice there is a flat side of the motor shaft. You will align the flat side with the 1/8 Allen key screw hole. Make sure the shaft and base of the fan blade are even with each other prior to tightening the 1/8 Allen key screw. (If fan blade is not mounted flush with the motor shaft, the fan will not work properly.)
  6. Once the screw is tightened, you can now connect your thermal control harness at the housing base. (Ensure that nothing is in the way of fan blades prior to connecting the harness.)
