FAQ:  General Operation

Frequently Asked Questions regarding the general operation of Attic Breeze solar powered attic fans.

General Operation

Will my fan run at night?
No. Attic Breeze fans are strictly solar-powered and operate only when sunlight is available.

Can the fan run off electricity?
No. Our fans are designed to be solar-powered only.

At what temperature does the fan turn on and off?
The fan turns on at approximately 75°F (±5°) and shuts off at around 59°F.

Can the fan pull air from inside my home?
No. Our fans ventilate attic spaces. If soffit vents are blocked, the blade may slow down due to reduced airflow.

How does the fan work in the winter?
If attic temperatures stay below 75°F, the fan opening functions as a passive vent. This provides ventilation equal to most 10-foot ridge vents.

Do I need to cover the fan in winter like a whirlybird vent?
No. Your attic still needs ventilation year-round. Our fans should not be covered.
